Steinway piano artist Shelly Berg presents an evening of original, arranged, and improvised music for the 5th Frost Chopin Festival on July 1, 2023 at the Maurice Gusman Concert Hall, Frost School of Music, University of Miami. Ticket information will be announced soon at frostchopinfestival.com.

Shelly Berg appears with Canadian-born, California-based vocalist Kari Kirkland and Peter Erskine, Tom Scott, Larry Koonse, and Kevin Axt at Catalina Jazz Club in Hollywood, California.  Breathing fresh life into a range of classic pop and jazz songs, this all-star line-up will feature Kirkland’s voice soaring above lush arrangements by producer and pianist, Shelly Berg.  With a single from her first album landing on the Billboard Adult Contemporary Charts, and critical acclaim for her second album, Kari will explore material from each, as well as previewing new tunes from her upcoming release, presented live for the first time.

Shelly Berg joins Gerard Schwarz and the Frost Symphony Orchestra in Gershwin’s iconic Rhapsody in Blue featuring Berg performing both Gershwin’s cadenzas as well as Berg’s improvised cadenzas with jazz trio. The program also includes David Schiff’s adaptation of Stravinsky’s Firebird, infused with jazz and rock as well as Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana conducted by Amanda Quist.

Faena Jazz Series kicks off Women’s History Month with Sara Gazarek and the Shelly Berg Trio on March 22 at the Faena Theater, Miami Beach, Florida. Gazarek is a multiple Grammy nominee, an educator, and the premier protegée of singer Kurt Elling. She combines extraordinary vocal technique with conscious lyrics and sense of human warmth that is hard to resist. Accompanying Sara will be her good friend pianist Shelly Berg and his trio.
